LAKESIDE -- Barry Kenreich, 54, of Lakeside, died Friday afternoon, Aug. 22, 2003, at his
home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, at Pobocik Funeral Home
Connelly-Noble Chapel, in Three Oaks with Pastor David Helmuth officiating. Interment will
follow at Lakeside Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, at the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to AA, C/O St. Paul Episcopal Church, 306 Courtland St.,
Dowagiac, Mich. 49047, or to the Youth Outreach Program at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church,
30402 West M 62, Dowagiac, Mich. 49047.
Barry was born Jan. 10, 1949, in Cincinnati, to Richard and Virginia (Mayhorn) Kenreich. He
lived in Southwest Michigan most of his life, and enjoyed spending summers at his cottage on
Pitcher Lake. Barry earned his Masters Degree in Education at Western Michigan University, and
was employed as a Machine Tool and Automation instructor at Bosch in Bridgman, and served
briefly as a Drafting and Computer Aided Design instructor at Brandywine High School in Niles.
He was a member of the MEA, and loved to fix and repair things. Barry would putter on cars and
machinery, and owned Stevensville Small Engine Repair, for eleven years. He was an expert in
Robotics and had earned many prestigious awards associated with his field.
Survivors include: -- his wife, Brenda (Tarrant) Kenreich, whom he married on June 15, 1994; his
children -- Justin Kenreich of st. Joseph, ; Brandon Kenreich of Bridgman, Veronica Towne-
Kenreich of South Bend, Ind., Heidi Zambrano, and her husband Paul, of Bridgman, and Jason
Balke of Lakeside; grandchildren -- Carson and Alexandria; his father, Richard Kenreich of'El
Paso, Texas; and brothers -- Phillip Kenreich of South Haven, and James Kenreich of Dana Point,
Calif.; his sister, Kriseda Powell of Sun City, Ariz.; and by Leslie Kenreich of st. Joseph, the
mother of Justin and Brandon.
