James “Keith” Loughmiller II, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph, surrounded by his loving wife and other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will take place at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St Joseph. From 12:00 PM until 3:00pm on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Keith was born May 29, 1949 in Boston, MA to James & Agnes “Kitty” (Kitson) Loughmiller. In 1967 he graduated from St. Joseph High School and continued his education at Lake Michigan College, he was a member of Phi Kappa Nu fraternity, where he made many lifelong friendships. After graduation he served in the US Navy and his love of travel and adventure grew as he toured the United States and Mexico, more often than not with his beloved dog, Simon, accompanying him. He enjoyed his time spent with friends playing pool, going to pool tournaments, with an occasional “The Champagne of Beer” and going wind surfing.  Keith eventually landed back in St. Joseph, going to work for the St. Joseph Public Works Water Department where he retired in 2007. In 1991, he met and married his soulmate and love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” Kelly at Riverview Park in St. Joseph.

Keith has left behind to mourn his loss, his wife, Peggy; son, James (Michelle) Loughmiller, III; grandson, Alex; sister, Pat Ott; nieces, Chelsea (Brandon) Ott, Samantha Terwillger, Kimberly (Jason) Patterson; great-nieces, Miranda, Gabriella; great nephew, Brayden and best friend, Steve Knight, who was like a brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Darlene Terwilliger.

Keith was such a great person.  Loved that smile of his.  God's peace be with his family at this difficult time.
