Larry "Big L.J.” Jeffery, 52. dearly loved and cherished husband, father,·son, brother, and grandfather, was called home to be forever with our Lord in heaven on September 30, 2001 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. His amazing spirit, humor and generosity will never be removed from our hearts. We thank God and praise Him for Larry’s time of grace here on earth and look forward to one day reuniting with him in heaven. Funeral services will be held al 11 a.m Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Road St. Joseph. Officiating will be the Rev. Carl Pagel. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m Tuesday at Legacy Family Funeral Services Mathew R. Purchase Chapel, Berrien Springs and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. of which he was a member. The family is being served by Starks & Menchinger through Legacy Family Funeral Services.

Larry was born Dec. 19, 1948. to Peter and Marge (Sernpert) Jeffery in Benton Harbor. He married June Mutz on Feb. 7, 1981 in Stevensville. He attended Michigan State University. Whirlpool Corporation currently employed him in the capacity of senior circuit board designer. He previously worked for Heath Company/Zenith Data Systems for 28 years. He also owned his own circuit layout and design corporation for the last several years. He was an avid bowler, ourdoorsrman and Michigan State fan.

Survivors include: his Wife, Jane of SI. Joseph; three daughters - Jennifer (Phil Quack) Jeffery of Dimondale, Mich., Tami (Torn) Hasse of Sodus, Cathi (Bill) Howard of Covert; a son, Karl (Paula) Kroening of Baroda; three grandchildren Miranda Kroening, Tyler and Tanner Hasse; two sisters - Sherie Jeffery of St, Joseph and Gale Jeffery; and his mother, Marge Jeffery of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Donald Kroening.
