According to BeenVerified and Tributes.com, a Paul Arthur Winter passed away on 4/18/2001, possibly in Rockford, MI. If anyone can verify that this is our classmate Paul, and/or supply an obituary for Paul Filstrup to post on this site, it would be most helpful.
Yes, Paul died of skin cancer when he was living in Rockford MI with his wife Jane and two daughters. Paul and I had been lunch table buddies at SJHS and we skipped school once to go to South Bend and visit pawn shops. Later we hooked up again when he transfered to Western Mich U from Calvin and I transfered from Lake Michigan College. We eventually were roomates and did a lot toghether including getting into a little trouble and other "learning experiences". His eventual wife, Jane, lived next door. He became a carpenter and got me a job on the same crew (more learning experiences). He evenrtually picked up his sax again and started playing in a Big Band. I miss him every day. There's a part of him in everything I do.
