I remained dear friends with Nancy from High School through her death. We roomed together in college (MSU) and later, for a short time, in Houston, TX where we both lived. She became a highly successful real estate agent, ultimately forming her own complany, "Nancy Owens Properties," in 1986. She was featured in Money magazine that year and received numerous awards over the ensuing years, including recognition by her peers for honesty and integrity in the real estate business. Her cancer diagnosis in 1980 did not slow her down. She remained courageous, charming, and beautiful until her death. Her service was on September 11, 2001--even so, there were over 700 people in attendance to honor Nancy and show their love for her.
